Last year Wellington Free Ambulance held co-design workshops regarding how ambulance services can help support community health, resilience and wellbeing in Wairarapa.

Together, with our health partners and community we can challenge, create and co-create better experiences for all those who interact with our service.

Workshops were held with the Wairarapa community in October and November 2019. A summary report of findings is available via link below.

Wairarapa Pop Up 1

The Wairarapa Ambulance Service Pop Up was a space to work together with health partners, interest groups and the wider community to discuss and generate ideas on the future of community health, resilience and wellbeing, through a paramedic lens. The Pop Up brought together people with different knowledge, perspectives and expertise to focus on how ambulance services can help support patient outcomes in Wairarapa. 

With facilitated engagement, involving staff and stakeholders, we looked at what ambulance care looks like now and what it could look like in the future. Together, with our health partners and community we can challenge, create and co-create better experiences with all those who interact with our service. Understanding what matters to them in pre-hospital healthcare and what it means to them when they talk about improving their experience. 

In a refreshing and innovative space, with visual displays and interactive sessions, we created an environment for open and honest discussions, accessible to all, so whoever visited understood the status and context of the work. 

This way of working is people-centered as we want to focus on the things that matter and involve stakeholders from all areas right from the start.
